Mr. Christian Filice
Counsellor/Intern

Doctoral Intern B.A.

Christian Filice is enrolled in his fourth year of the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program at Adler University. He graduated from McGill University in 2015 with a primary goal of helping at-risk youth understand mental health and overcome social barriers. He has provided individual therapy services to adolescents at Child and Youth Mental Health in White Rock and is excited to continue his clinical training here at Sand Story Psychological Services. He has worked with children and youth in a variety of settings and has been providing psycho-educational assessments of learning disabilities, ADHD, intellectual disability and mood and anxiety disorders in his work over the last two years of his program.

Christian is excited to be joining the Sand Story team this year to expand his knowledge in attachment-based interventions and play therapy.  One of his passions is exploring the impact that stigma can have on individuals that differ from society’s mainstream. His work has included advocacy for sex workers’ rights and visibility, tackling the stigma of disabilities and addiction and he is completing a graduate research project on the stigma of mental disorders specifically.
