Ms. Victoria Rideout
Doctoral Intern
Victoria is a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) student at Adler University and she started her practicum placement at Sand Story in September 2024. She has prior experience working with children through various teaching and mentorship roles, as well as leading mindfulness and emotional regulation sessions for youth at an inner-city after school program. She also has experience working clinically with adults experiencing difficulties with depression, rumination, anxiety, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships.
Victoria has a client-centered and relational approach to therapy with an emphasis on attachment. Her style is integrative, drawing on her training in cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and Gottman method couples therapy to address the individual strengths, values, and needs of each client.
Victoria has experience conducting psychoeducational and adaptive functioning assessments with youth and adults. Her approach to both assessment and therapy is consistent with disability justice, which values access and self-determination. Victoria has experience working with neurodiverse clients and is neurodiverse herself, and so is aware of the impact and the strengths associated with these experiences and diagnoses.
Victoria is available for psycho-educational assessments and therapy for children, parents, adults, and couples.
