Colleen Wittig obtained her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and has been practicing as a counsellor since 2001. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (registration #2306). She has worked in various settings with children, youth, adults, and families including Vancouver Coastal Health Eating Disorders Program, Child and Youth Mental Health, Fraser Health Authority and Family Services of Greater Vancouver. She has worked in both public health care and private practice settings with a wide range of clients.

Colleen’s treatment philosophy focuses on empowering clients to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life by supporting them to work through issues and draw on their individual strengths. Through a compassionate lens, she works with clients to develop skills and guides them to bring awareness and insight into their emotions and life experiences.

Colleen has training in Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Self-Compassion and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

She uses creative approaches to incorporate therapeutic techniques into her practice. She has worked extensively with clients struggling with eating disorders, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, she has extensive experience leading workshops and groups, and with children and youth.

Colleen’s approach is one of warmth, compassion, and unconditional acceptance. Her non-judgemental stance fosters safety and trust. She is very passionate about supporting clients to thrive and meets the unique needs of each client.
